Description
Role Summary
We are hiring an L2 Backup Engineer to design, operate, and maintain enterprise backup and recovery
platforms — covering virtual, physical, database, application, and cloud workloads with a clean DR posture.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate enterprise backup platforms (Veeam, Commvault, NetBackup, Rubrik, Cohesity).
- Design and implement backup policies, SLAs (RPO/RTO), and retention.
- Run daily backup health checks; resolve failures within SLA.
- Restore-test critical systems on schedule; document outcomes.
- Operate replication, immutability, and air-gapped copies (3-2-1 / 3-2-1-1-0).
- Support DR drills and post-drill report-outs.
- Coordinate with storage, virtualization, and DBA teams on backup integrations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in IT or equivalent.
- 4+ years operating enterprise backup platforms in production.
- Strong with at least one of: Veeam, Commvault, NetBackup, Rubrik, Cohesity.
- Hands-on with VMware / Hyper-V backup and database backup (SQL, Oracle).
- Familiarity with deduplication appliances (DataDomain, HPE StoreOnce).
- Scripting in PowerShell or Python.
- Professional English — mandatory.
Preferred / Nice to Have
- Working knowledge of Arabic is a plus.
- Vendor certifications (Veeam VMCE, Commvault Master, NetBackup Admin).
- Cloud backup (Azure Backup, AWS Backup) experience.
- Tape library + LTO operations.
