The Jr. Specialist HRIS Operations provides high-level support, system administration, operational project support and end-user training. The Specialist HRIS Operations will play a pivotal role in creating training documents (SOPs) for all of the Core HR teams’ processes in the new HRIS.
- *Annual compensation range for this position is $48,000- $53,000
This is a full time, remote position
How You’ll Contribute HRIS Support
- Perform system administration for the Human Resources team within Dayforce.
- Diligently monitor and triage service request queue and other support request channels.
- Promptly respond to all requests, courteously set appropriate expectations, and provide timely follow- up/resolutions.
- Serve as tier 1 people systems production support through entire employment lifecycle, adhering to respective service level agreements.
- Consistently apply standard operating procedures to deliver on general support requests while continually searching for opportunities for improvement
- Research and diagnose issues, escalating to internal or external partners as needed
HRIS Training
- Partner with functional/business leaders to create and deliver regular Dayforce training to end users and key user groups in alignment with functional processes.
- Author and publish process documentation, work instructions (SOPs) and reference guides.
- Continuously assess training methods and content to improve delivery, relevance, and value.
HRIS Security, Protection, and Governance
- Ensure protection of People Data by adhering to applicable internal and external data protection policies, regulations, and procedures.
- Escalate system/process vulnerabilities and ensure proper mitigation.
- Follow and champion best practices in role/access controls, secure data transfers, and maintaining system security protocols.
- Create awareness of the importance of data protection and security by supporting training campaigns where needed.
- Maintains alignment and upholds Mercy Ships Core Values, Code of Conduct, and follows the policies and procedures published on Compass.

The Ideal Candidate
- Understanding of human capital management, enterprise resource planning, or financial management systems.
- Ability to develop and manage system policies and workflow processes, preferred.
- Ability to maintain [system] organizational structure/master data and accurately update transactional data.
- Must be able to update data and correct records efficiently and accurately.
- Ability to analyze issues, recognize patterns, and perform root-cause analysis.
- Ability to continually learn and adjust to new processes and system functionality required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts to business language.
- Effective listening skills.
- Ability to uphold and champion high customer service standards, with the ability to prioritize a high volume of requests, efficiently.
- Self-motivated and ability to be productive independently.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Business Administration, Human Resources, related field, or equivalent experience required.
- 1 year experience administering HR information system, Payroll system, ATS, ERP, and/or finance management systems required.
- Experience in Ceridian Dayforce preferred.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio).
- 1 year experience training and creating work instructions/quick reference guides for end users.
- Experience within the Human Resources field is preferred but not required
- *Compensation range listed is for U.S. hires only. Actual compensation may vary dependent upon location of hire.
