Role Overview

Join Nordstrom's Store Inventory Outbound Technology organization as a Software Development Engineer 2 to support critical applications and services for back-of-house employees. Work with modern cloud architecture, supply chain, inventory, and store operations systems to impact merchandise flow through our network.

Independently own features and services, contribute to system design discussions, write clean code, and participate in architectural discussions. Collaborate with business stakeholders, product managers, and cross-functional teams to deliver scalable solutions.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of professional software engineering experience with Java-based microservices architecture
• Strong proficiency in Java, JavaScript, and Spring Boot
• Experience with SQL, including writing and optimizing queries
• Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services
• Working knowledge of containerization using Docker and container orchestration with Kubernetes
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools
• Experience with automated testing frameworks and testing best practices
• Familiarity with event-driven architecture and Kafka
• Solid troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
