Job Description

As a Staff Frontend Engineer, you’ll be a hands-on technical leader with company-level impact across our Real Estate vertical. You’ll shape and evolve the frontend architecture powering our portals, create shared frontend solutions adopted by multiple teams, and orchestrate complex initiatives.

At a high level, you will:

  • Set technical direction for frontend across multiple teams, building alignment among engineers, product managers, designers and senior stakeholders.
  • Influence roadmaps, investment decisions, and engineering priorities by connecting frontend strategy to business outcomes, delivery risk and customer impact.
  • Defining and driving the culture of engineering excellence, while leading the evolution of our Real Estate frontend architecture to support future requirements, setting and improving SLAs/SLOs and anticipating ripple effects across systems together with other engineers and principals.
  • Act as a trusted technical leader across teams and locations for frontend topics, shaping how web experiences are built across our organisation and influencing decisions at both team and leadership levels.
  • Represent frontend engineering in cross-functional and leadership discussions, helping the organisation make better long-term technical trade-offs.
  • Design and create shared frontend libraries, components and tooling (e.g. design system, performance monitoring) that are widely used by internal teams, focusing on pragmatic, reusable solutions and driving their adoption.
  • Orchestrate multi-system refactors and migrations like framework upgrades, cross-product harmonisation.
  • Mentor and coach other engineers through structured mentorship, pairing, and feedback, helping them grow their skills and closing skill gaps you observe in the organisation by organising structured trainings for our people.
  • Model a healthy feedback culture, helping people navigate tough conversations and conflicts in a constructive, blameless way.
  • Challenge and improve team and cross-team processes, suggesting changes that improve focus, quality, and speed when needed.
  • You’ll still write plenty of code, but your impact will be measured just as much by how you multiply the effectiveness of others as by your individual output.

Your day-to-day

  • You’ll be part of a product team, splitting time about half and half between product delivery and staff responsibilities, depending on the current needs and priorities
  • Innovate, design, implement, and deploy frontend-focused engineering solutions for our products, from discovery to production.
  • Build alignment across teams with different goals and constraints, and unblock progress on ambiguous, cross-cutting initiatives. Step in to create clarity, momentum, and shared ownership when needed.
  • Own the end-to-end technical vision for key user journeys like Homegate and Immoscout24 and more, with a strong focus on performance, accessibility, UX quality, and reliability…
